The Board of Directors of the Caldwell County Appraisal District is receiving applications until February 19, 2016 from local citizens to serve on the District’s Appraisal Review Board for the 2016/2017 term. The Appraisal Review Board’s primary function is to conduct hearings and make determinations on appeals of local property tax appraisals.
The Appraisal Review Board generally meets on weekdays for a two- to four-week period during the month of July, and on three or four days at various times throughout the year. Members receive compensation for their service at a rate of $110 per day.
To be eligible to serve on the Appraisal Review Board an individual must have resided in the appraisal district for at least the last two years. Persons who are employees or officials of local governments or school districts are not eligible to serve.
