Important Press Release

On November 8, 2022, Lockhart ISD asked voters to approve the “Penny Put-Back” VATRE, Voter Approved Tax Ratification Election. The voters did not approve the election. Lockhart ISD approved a resolution adopting a new tax rate of $1.1123, which is $.01 less than the previously adopted tax rate of $1.1223. As a result of this election you will have a 2022 Corrected Tax Statement(s). If you are mailing your payment please verify the correct amount prior to submitting your payment.

 

Caldwell County Appraisal District would like to notify county residents that
appraisal district staff will be performing reappraisals within the community.
All District staff will be in white vehicles with the Caldwell County Appraisal District logo on front doors.
All appraisal staff carry CCAD issued identification.

Within this site you will find general information about the District and the ad valorem property tax system in Texas,
as well as information regarding specific properties within the district.

Caldwell Appraisal District is responsible for appraising all real and business personal property within Caldwell County and parts of four surrounding counties. The district appraises property according to the Texas Property Tax Code and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices (USPAP).

Our Mission

The mission of the Caldwell County Appraisal District is to discover, list and appraise all property located within the boundaries of the district in an accurate, ethical and impartial manner in an effort to estimate the market value of each property and achieve uniformity and equity between classes of properties.  This will be accomplished by maintaining the highest standards in appraisal practices and law, guided by the goals of providing quality service to the taxpayers and taxing entities and by developing personnel who are professional and knowledgeable.

 

The Appraisal District does not set tax rates.  The tax rates are set by each individual taxing entity.

Important Notice Information and News

2022 Appraisal Notices have been mailed April 29, 2022 for most properties.
Protest Deadline is May 31, 2022.


Remember to turn in your Homestead applications.

The 2022 Appraisal Values were certified as of July 18, 2022.

You may apply for the 2023 Tax Year for AG applications.
 Please see new requirements.


Processing of Deeds for Ownership changes are currently as of recorded date JANUARY 31, 2023.

All property splits & subdivision created after April 1, 2023 will be split for 2024 tax year.
These splits and new accounts will not create a 2023 tax bill.
